Review of Economic and Business Studies (REBS)

The Review of Economic and Business Studies (REBS) is a doubleblind,peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to advancing interdisciplinary dialogue on contemporary issues in economics and business administration. Unlike specialized journals, REBS promotes cross-disciplinary perspectives, encouraging contributions that integrate economics with business, social sciences, and humanities. Aligned with its mission, the journal welcomes well-informed, empirically grounded and theoretically innovative manuscripts that shed light on economic processes, business development, and their societal implications.

Ongoing Call for Papers 

REBS maintains a continuous open call for submissions. Submissions are welcome at any time and will be considered for the next regular issue or for forthcomingspecial issues, which address emerging and current topics such as technological innovation, artificial intelligence, economic and business perspectives on war and peace,the future of work, and geopolitical shifts. Announcements for special issues are made at least 6 months in advance to allow prospective contributors adequate preparation time.

Submission

 All submissions are expected to comply with the Guidelines for Authors and align with one of the journal’s structured sections, as outlined in detail in the About us / Sections page:

  • Editorial – reflective contributions by editors or invited authors;
  • Research Article – empirical or theoretical studies (max. 25 pages);
  • PhD Article – doctoral research article (15–20 pages);
  • Essay – argumentative, reflective contributions addressing broader conceptual or other thematicissues;
  • Case Study – in-depth analyses of organizations, industries, markets, or policies;
  • Comment – shorter notes, critiques, or methodological observations (max. 10 pages);
  • Book Review – scholarly reviews of recent publications (max. 5 pages).

Manuscripts should be submitted via e-mail at: rebs[@]feaa[.]uaic[.]ro 

Peer Review and Editorial Policy 

  • All submissionsundergo a double-blind peerreview by at least three referees.
  • Decision outcomes include:
    • Accept
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Revise and resubmit
    • Rejection (if out of scope or not meeting REBS standards)
  •  Review Timeline: average review timeline: 2–3 month
  • Review Requests: authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their manuscript prior to a final decision.

Research Ethics and Integrity 

REBS adheres to the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) – https://publicationethics.org/. All participants, including authors, reviewers, and editors, are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data manipulation, or other forms of academic misconduct.   

Open Access Policy 

REBS is an open-access journal. Authors retain copyright of their work while permitting free distribution and non-commercial use under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
